Anthony Petrello leads welding solutions at Global Oilfield Systems, bringing 35 years of hands-on field and engineering experience across upstream, midstream, and downstream construction. He began his career as a pipeline welder on cross-country transmission projects and progressed through weld inspection, procedure development, and project engineering before taking responsibility for the group's welding technology programme.

Today he owns the qualification and governance of every welding procedure G.O.S executes, from high-pressure sour service pipelines and offshore riser tie-ins to gas plant fabrication and structural rig modules. He develops WPS and PQR packages to ASME IX, API 1104, and AWS D1.1, directs welder qualification and continuity testing, and leads root cause investigations when weld integrity issues arise in the field.

Anthony has supervised welding scopes on more than 240 projects across the United States, West Africa, the North Sea, and the Middle East, including several multi-spread pipeline campaigns delivered without a single repairable weld rejection above one percent. He is equally known internally for mentoring: he built the G.O.S apprentice welder pathway that has certified over 180 field welders and runs quarterly technique clinics on GTAW, SMAW, and automated orbital welding.

His focus areas include automated and semi-automated welding deployment, exotic alloy and duplex stainless procedures, hydrogen-ready pipeline welding, and non-destructive testing strategy. He works directly with clients at FEED stage to design weldability into a project rather than inspect defects out of it, an approach that has repeatedly shortened schedules and reduced rework cost on complex builds.
